Saving and Caring for Cats 

The mission of the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) is to save the lives of cats in Santa Barbara County by providing shelter, veterinary care, behavioral support, adoption and foster services, education and community outreach.

In support of the primary goals stated above, ASAP also seeks to:

  • Maximize community involvement through volunteerism and outreach.
  • Reduce the population of stray, homeless, and feral cats through adoption, spay/neuter and Trap-Neuter-Return programs, redemption, foster care, and educational programs.
  • Form strong partnerships with Santa Barbara County Animal Services and other animal welfare groups to promote animal welfare and related causes.

I adopted a cat several months ago, and just recently the vets at Carpinteria Vet diagnosed her with FIC. The battle has been on going, and every doctor I've interacted with here has gone above beyond to help my cat and I. Recently my cats symptoms acted up and I called their offices this morning to see if I could get in contact with a doctor. Dr Kristen called me tonight at 8:30, obviously WAY passed her working hours and stayed on the phone with me for twenty minutes until she and I came up with a new plan to help my cat. I couldn't believe that a vet would call way passed her working hours, and I am so grateful! I met with Dr. Munoz and Dr. Kristen; they obviously cared, were extremely knowledgeable, and took their time with us.
